Corporate Social Responsibility

1

Safety, Health & Wellbeing

Safety is a core Ellmer value—and a non-negotiable priority.

We work tirelessly to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone involved in our operations. Our mature, group-wide Safety Management System is certified to OHSAS 18001 and supported by behavioural safety initiatives like The Byrne Way, helping ensure our sites are not just compliant but incident and injury free (IIF).
We believe safety is indivisible from health. A healthy worker is a safe worker—so we actively identify, monitor and manage occupational health risks across every project.

Our vision: A working culture where everyone goes home safe, every day—physically and mentally well.

2

Supporting Our People

People are the heartbeat of Ellmer—and our most valuable asset.

We invest in our teams at every level, offering training, mentorship, and clear development pathways. Our culture of respect, recognition, and inclusion enables our people to thrive—and in turn, deliver excellence for our clients.

We’re equally committed to nurturing future talent. Through partnerships with initiatives like the Construction Youth Trust and Women into Construction, we attract and retain young people and underrepresented groups across our sites and offices.

Our promise: To create an environment where individuals grow, contribute, and belong—for one project and for life.

3

Building Sustainable Futures

We build with a clear environmental conscience.

Ellmer operates under Byrne Group’s ISO 14001-certified Environmental Management System, designed to drive innovation, eliminate waste, and reduce our carbon footprint.

From reusing 18,750 tonnes of material on a single project to maintaining an HGV fleet that exceeds London Low Emission Zone standards, we continually challenge ourselves to go further—pushing towards truly lean construction.

Our approach: Practical, measurable, and forward-thinking—because future-focused building starts today.

4

Engaging Local Communities

Every project we complete leaves a physical mark—but it’s the social legacy we’re most proud of.

We engage early with local communities, creating opportunities for employment, training, and upskilling. Through education schemes and awareness campaigns, we help young people gain the tools they need to enter and thrive in the construction industry.

Ellmer also contributes a minimum of 500 hours each year in volunteer time, free materials, and professional advice for community and charity projects.

Our impact: Beyond buildings—towards stronger, more skilled and connected communities.

5

Responsible Partnerships

Our commitment to responsibility extends throughout our supply chain.

We work with delivery partners whose values align with our own—those who share our dedication to safety, ethics, and performance. Together, we create long-term relationships based on mutual trust and shared standards.

Our standard: High-quality delivery, built on integrity from the ground up.

Being a responsible builder means thinking long-term—about people, the planet, and the legacy we leave behind. At Ellmer, CSR isn’t a checkbox. It’s the foundation of everything we do.
